New Zealand coach Ian Foster believes that the significant loss to South Africa will alleviate the pressure on the All Blacks ahead of the World Cup.

In the first half at Twickenham, the All Blacks faced the loss of lock Scott Barrett, who received two yellow cards and was subsequently dismissed. As a result, the Springboks took a 14-0 lead into halftime, courtesy of tries from skipper Siya Kolisi and Kurt-Lee Arendse.

In the second half, Malcolm Marx, Bongi Mbonambi, and Kwagga Smith added further tries to extend the world champions' lead, with Cam Roigard contributing a late consolation score for New Zealand.

"We are well aware of our current circumstances and the objective we are pursuing," said Foster.

"The performance today was not up to our standards. We have a couple of weeks to rectify that, and I have full confidence that we can do so.

"This performance will relieve some of the external pressure on us. With lowered expectations, we can quietly focus on preparation and getting back on track." Foster also provided insights into how the Springboks disrupted his team's strategies.

"Our cohesion suffered when we faced pressure, though our defense in the initial 20 minutes was exceptional. If we had maintained discipline in crucial areas, we could have turned the tide," the 58-year-old coach added.

"Their [South Africa's] performance was undeniably impressive. They executed their plan with great vigor.

"Their physicality and performance in set-pieces were outstanding, particularly in scrums and line-outs - a notable distinction.

"Their aggressive play led us to commit errors, which posed challenges for us."
